We worked with United Airlines to win employee support with the proposed merger with US Air (which was subsequently prohibited by regulators).  The combination was contentious because it not only affected seniority, work rules, compensation and other issues, but UAL employees had a very negative view of US Air that was contrary to the emotional connection they had with their company.  In addition, we worked with UAL on a number of initiatives to improve overall operating communication.
